When you walked into that room long ago.
We saw each other from across time it seemed.
Did we not know or did we recognise the flame.
Its dance drew us into sleeping scenarios again.
Ones no one could have expected so unforeseen.
Burning engulfing us from the start to what end.
Branded by the fire that grew in your eyes.
Words both spoken and unspoken stoked it.
Time and distance fighting to keep it contained.
Still that flame grows into this roaring inferno.
Its fingers reaching finding burning into us.
Its perpetual light reignited in our hearts.
Its warmth brings a welcome embrace.
Its breathtaking heat brings back our desire.
That flame I saw in your eyes long ago ...
Burns Brightly,
Again
